It’s been over 20 years since the Irish branch of the Lord’s Taverners was set up in Ireland. Since then, the Lord’s Taverners Ireland has continued to raise thousands of Euro each year to help young people benefit from an involvement in sport and recreational activity.
As both a club and a charity, we strongly believe that you should have fun whilst fundraising and over the years we’ve organised a variety of fundraising and social events which both raise money to fund our activities and act as enjoyable social occasions for our members and friends.
Although the covid pandemic put a stop to our fundraising events over the past two years we were blown away by the extraordinary generosity of each and every one of our members and friends who supported the two Christmas appeals that replaced the events themselves in 2020 and 2021.
In 2022 we committed to funding three minibuses which are currently on order and enroute to Stewarts Special School in Dublin, Bluestack Special Needs Foundation in Donegal and St John of Gods in Dublin and once they have taken delivery of these vehicles, we will send out an update including photos.
Lord’s Taverners Ireland have also committed to funding specialised sports equipment for three more young people to ensure that they have a sporting chance and other applications are also being considered.
To date we have funded and committed to 21 minibuses, 2 vans, specialised equipment for 17 individuals and also donated sports equipment to 11 clubs and organisations. Not bad for a small charity!
Lord’s Taverners Ireland take extreme pride in being able to help so many young people nationwide and can continue to do so with your help by appealing to you to support our fundraising events which have returned this year or by supporting our appeals.
Thank you to each and every one of you that have helped make this happen!
